The intimate restaurant sets a cozy ambiance, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring Kirkby Lonsdale. I opted for the local trout served with lentil salsa—a dish that perfectly showcased the freshness of regional produce, appealing to any wildlife conservationist's taste for sustainability. My companion chose the haunch of deer with smoked potato purée, and we found the flavors artfully balanced. While breakfast started strong, I was slightly disappointed with the full English, which did not meet the standard set by their dinner service. The extensive menu of bar snacks and the dog-friendly dining options provide plenty of opportunities to enjoy various meals throughout the day. For anyone seeking culinary adventure in a scenic setting, the Sun Inn is a worthy destination.
